The Democrat Party has no interest in fulfilling its Constitutional requirement to defend our borders. Since Biden took office, five million illegals have crossed the Rio Grande River. Up to 40% of those who cross are able to evade capture. The remainder are processed and released into the community. Most of those will blend in and never report to an immigration hearing.
The wealthy elite of Martha's Vineyard -- despite their altruistic claim of phony compassion -- did not welcome the responsibility for 50 illegals that arrived at their idyllic enclave, courtesy of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Sanctuary cities like Chicago and New York complain that they are being turned into border towns. That, at least, suggests an awareness of the problem even though the Biden administration insists there is no crisis at the border.
California Governor Gavin Newsom wants the governors of Texas and Florida investigated on charges of kidnapping and human trafficking. The Democrat governor seems unaware that the Biden administration flew 70 planeloads of illegals into Florida last summer -- ostensibly to register them as Democrats and turn the state blue.
Twenty-nine counties in the state of Texas have now declared an invasion across the southern border. They have petitioned Governor Abbott-- under Article 1, Section 10 of the United States Constitution and Article IV, Section 7 of the Texas Constitution -- for the right to defend themselves.
The Texas constitution permits the governor to “suppress insurrections and to repel invasions" by activating the militia (National Guard). Last year the governor declared a state of emergency and authorized the deployment of 10,000 soldiers to the Rio Grande Valley. However, the state is running out of funds to finance the operation.
Border towns are under siege by drug cartels and human traffickers. Convicted felons and suspected terrorists are being detained by the understaffed Border Patrol. Biden can fund an army of 87,000 IRS agents to harass American citizens, but he won't beef up security along the border.
Texas law enforcement agencies have intercepted over 340 million lethal doses of fentanyl manufactured in China and Mexico. The drug kills over 300 Americans every day.
The open border poses a national security threat to the United States. The Biden administration has the legal obligation to defend the nation. Biden took an oath to uphold the Constitution, yet he has the gall to accuse Republicans of not respecting the rule of law.
There is an undeclared war on America's southern flank and the Democrats are doing absolutely nothing. Make no mistake, it's all by design.
