Source material for this article is a new book by Rachael Bade and Karoun Demirjian: "Unchecked: The Untold Story Behind Congress's Botched Impeachments of Donald Trump".
Representative Jerry Nadler (D-NY) reportedly told House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) that the first impeachment of Donald Trump was "unfair, and it’s unprecedented, and it’s unconstitutional.”
Nadler insisted that Trump was not being afforded due process but his concerns were dismissed by party leaders. Schiff reportedly told Nadler, "F*** Trump".
Pelosi argued that it was important for Democrats to control the narrative so that 'rural folks and Christians would believe Trump was guilty'.
The trial hinged on a phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Democrats charged that Trump had illegally requested that Zelensky investigate the business dealings of Joe Biden and his son Hunter with regards to energy deals in Ukraine.
Specifically, Trump was accused of a quid pro quo. Financial assistance was predicated on the investigation. Zelensky publicly stated that this was not the case. He said that U.S. aid was never contingent on whether the Biden's were investigated.
Callously disregarding Zelensky's statement, Pelosi and her team were able to orchestrate a damning narrative that was sustained by carefully chosen witnesses.
Nadler complained that Trump was not given a fair chance to defend himself. He questioned why Schiff and Pelosi simply couldn't wait for the opportunity to defeat Trump at the polls in 2020.
Schiff answered, "He cheated in 2016. Why give him another chance to cheat in 2020?"
Republicans are accused of not accepting the results of the 2020 election when, in fact, Democrats never accepted the results four years earlier. Hillary was supposed to win in 2016.
Before he even took the oath of office, Trump was accused of being illegitimate just like Bush when he defeated Al Gore in 2000.
Guilty Joe of Quid Pro Quo
Ukraine was investigating Hunter Biden’s business dealings when then-Vice President Biden threatened Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko that the Obama administration would pull $1 billion in aid if Poroshenko didn’t fire the prosecutor.
Speaking before the Council on Foreign Relations in 2018, Biden recalled:
“I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion.’ I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.’ Well, son of a bitch, he got fired.”
The Senate did not convict Trump, but might we conclude by Joe's admission that he is guilty or does Lady Justice only wear a blindfold for Democrats?
Investigation of the Biden family business dealings has been obstructed for years. Democrats stopped Republicans from examining the evidence. What are they hiding?
Preliminary review suggests that the Biden's are guilty of tax evasion, wire fraud, unregistered lobbying of foreign governments -- even a federal gun violation to boot.
The evidence is so overwhelming that enough Biden supporters said they wouldn't have voted for Joe in 2020 if they had known, except the details were squashed by the FBI and media outlets.
Voters need to figure out why ... and sooner rather than later.
